It barely feels like the last season has just ended for Salisbury Hockey Club (SHC), culminating with the Ladies 1st XI promotion in April, and the players are already gearing up for the start of the next.

A new season means new challenge and new, tougher clubs to face. And the work starts now. Pre-season training is just around the corner for SHC’s men’s, women’s and junior squads, as its players all prepare to take on teams from across the South Central leagues from September.

Alongside, the club continues its focus on growing its youth hockey section, keen to find and nurture new and developing hockey talent, and SHC’s Head Coach Jon Royce, former Premier League and International Head Coach, is hosting a number of taster and training courses for Under 16s this summer.

Before the season begins, Salisbury is calling all new or returning players to the sport, to come and give hockey a go – or to re-discover their love of the game.

On Tuesday 22 August, if you’re aged 10 and 14 and never tried hockey before, why not sign up for Salisbury’s taster session. For just £10, you’ll get a three-hour introduction to hockey from Jon and SHC’s coaches. Register now via the club’s website for some fun and to learn some new skills.

Also running from 28 - 31 August for existing hockey players, Jon and the coaches are hosting a series of training days for Under 10s to Under 16s. Find out more on the club’s website and sign up for one or two days.

Everyone of all ages is welcome to join Salisbury Hockey Club

Salisbury runs squads and weekly training from September to April, for all ages, levels of ability and across both men’s and women’s senior sections. Everyone is welcome.

SHC prides itself on delivering a brilliant balance in both welcoming players to the more social benefits of playing as part of a club and those seeking a fun and challenging way to keep fit, at the same time as remaining a highly competitive club fighting its way up the area leagues. Regular training starts back up again from August onwards, so why not get in touch and find out more about joining.
