SATURDAY'S busy race evening at Salisbury was one to remember for jockey Richard Kingscote and trainer Ralph Beckett who combined to land a double.

The duo opened their account with Desert Way, who stayed on strongly to land the GSI Contract Services Ltd Maiden. Kingscote and Beckett were back in the winning enclosure an hour later, as the promising Shozita shed her maiden tag at the first time of asking in the Bathwick Tyres British Stallion Studs EBF Maiden. The double helped Beckett climb up the Salisbury trainers' standings for 2016, while Kingscote was scoring his first two victories at Salisbury for this season.

The feature Bathwick Tyres Handicap went to Richard Hannon, who saddled Ower Fly to spring an upset at 16/1 in the closing race on the card under apprentice Megan Nicholls. The card opened with victory for an apprentice also, as Mr S Walker guided Newmarket raider Imperial State to victory in the Party Continues at the Chapel Nightclub 'Carnarvon' Handicap. Newmarket based trainers were to enjoy a further victory on the card when David Elsworth's Justice Lady cruised to victory in the Jan Fuller Birthday Celebration Handicap.

The T&M Glass Maiden and the Derek Burridge Golf & Racing Trophies Handicap were won by Tanasoq and Flambeuse respectively, the latter helping jockey David Probert extend his lead at the top of the Salisbury jockey standings for this season.

Following racing, the course was transformed into an open-air nightclub as The Chapel provided four DJ sets worth of entertainment to round off a fantastic evening.

Salisbury race again on Tuesday.
