SALISBURY swimmer Phil Muspratt continued his elite level competition at the Derventio Excel February Festival Level 1 Meet.
The two day event, held at the Ponds Forge International Pool, attracted a whole host of top athletes who Muspratt rubbed shoulders with.
They included British Championship medallist Levi Lucas as well as 2014 Scottish Commonwealth Games' swimmer Richard Schafers, Jack Thorpe and Kieran McGuckin.
Muspratt, a Jones & Co sponsored swimmer, entered the 100m and 50m freestyle, and his best performance arrived in the latter.
He posted a top ten time in the preliminary stages, but was just shy of qualifying for the final.
"My time was an improvement on last week and, considering that I've put myself through hell in the gym this week, I am happy with my time and more importantly my swim, it was executed a lot better than it was last week at the Burns Open Meet," he said.
"I'm feeling a lot of pain now so that I can hopefully reap the benefits in May at the European Masters' Championships."
