VICTORY at struggling Folland Sports tomorrow will see Salisbury FC re-open a three point gap at the top of Sydenhams Wessex Premier Division.

Whites can break further clear of second-sitting Horndean, who don't play until Wednesday, and Andover Town, who make the trip to Bemerton Heath Harlequins.

As it stands, Whites and Horndean are level on 35 points but the leaders boast a superior goal difference of plus 41, while Neil Benson's Town are on 32 points in third.

The trip to Folland Park is Whites' second league clash in five weeks due to various cup competitions and will be looking to make amends for Tuesday's Hospital Cup exit at the hands of Laverstock and Ford.

The precarious hosts are one place from safety and haven't won at home in the league all season.

Boss Steve Claridge is urging football fanatics, who are yet to watch the re-formed club, to show their support.

He said: "Come and try us."

"Salisbury are in a good period and we want to progress. We want to get stronger and be better placed."

"We go into every game wanting to win and our disappointed when we get beaten and knocked out of cup competitions.

"We're not here to accept defeat. If we get beaten, we'll put it right as we run this club professionally and properly."

Last Saturday, before Whites secured their place in the third round of the FA Vase, chairman David Phillips announced their lease at the Ray Mac had been extended until the end of 2016/17 season, in principal, by the trustees.

"It's brilliant news," added Claridge.

"We aren't here to make life difficult and we have a long-term goal, which we are working towards. They've been good in understanding what we're doing.

There's also an element of trust - everything we do, we do right. We're an inclusive, community club."

Callum Hart, Harry Wedlake and Sam Roberts are still recovering from injury but should return for Tuesday's league clash with Fleet Spurs in the Wessex League Cup (7.45pm).

Elsewhere, the heavyweights in Wessex Division One – Amesbury Town and Portland United – face off.

Blues are without top striker Danny Finnigan, though, who is suspended.

Downton look for back-to-back wins in the league when Andover New Street visit and Laverstock and Ford travel to the Isle of Wight to face East Cowes Victoria. All games are 3pm starts.
