RIVALS Salisbury FC and Bemerton Heath Harlequins will be locking horns in a post-Christmas derby on Bank Holiday Monday, it has been agreed.

The fixture was initially scheduled for Tuesday, December 29 but the two clubs have decided to play on Monday, December 28, with, an early 2pm kick off.

In return, Whites will head to Western Way for the reverse showdown on Easter Monday (March 28), instead of March 29.

The switches, announced at Thursday night's fans' forum, were sanctioned by Sydenhams Wessex League chiefs earlier this week.

Chairman David Phillips, who spoke to the 40 supporters in the Ray Mac's Sarum Suite, said: "We all like a bit of football on a bank holiday and I think it will be good for us."

The Whites have said that it would like to express their gratitude to Harlequins for their agreement to the changes and they believe it will benefit fans by making the games more accessible on holidays.
