DOWNTON stretched their unbeaten run to four matches in Wessex Division One after playing out a goalless draw with Fleet Spurs.
Robins were forced to settle for a point at Wick Lane despite rattling the woodwork on occasions.
Following a dull first half, both teams showed intent on hurling forward for the winner in the second 45 minutes.
Declan McGregor thumped an effort off the underside of the bar after Dan Telfer's curling free kick hit the same spot.
Downton kept the pressure up and, during a series of corner kicks, almost scored again but the Fleet Spurs keeper Mark Appleby clawed the ball to safety.
Last week's hero Tom Aldridge emerged from the bench and almost scored two within minutes of his arrival.
His ferocious shot crept over the bar before his second effort was tipped around the post.
Manager Colin Hopkins said: "The first half was awful to watch and at times boring.
Although we've hit the woodwork a couple of times that doesn't give us three points. We've had a post-match meeting and everyone knows what needs to happen away to Christchurch on Saturday."
