TENNIS stars in-the-making are one tournament away from nationwide recognition.

Wiltshire's young rookies, hoping to follow in the footsteps of British aces Andy Murray, Heather Watson and James Ward at Wimbledon one day, are travelling to Bolton for the National Finals.

The county's boys and girls under-12s will be gunning for glory this weekend, 200 miles from finals days at the English grand slam.

The groups qualified for the competition at their respective Ageon County Cup tournaments last month.

Both Wiltshire teams will come up against seven other counties from across the UK.

The boys team, which includes Riverside's Rio Moss, saw-off the likes of Avon and Devon at their qualifying event in Burnham-on-Sea.

For the girls, they dropped one set across the whole tournament in Devizes, registering victories over Cornwall, Avon, Gloucestershire and Somerset.
