THE Tompkins family, father Steve and son Connor, set-up Bransgore thirds’ convincing 82-run victory over Sway IV in Regional Division 4 South West as the club had a fruitful Saturday, winning all their matches.

Ian Guest (66) led the early Bransgore batting in a second wicket stand of 73 with Connor Tompkins (10), but it was Steve Tompkins (67 no) and Colin Horton (24 no) who enabled them to reach 195-4 after they shared in an unbeaten fifth wicket stand of 101, writes Forest cricket correspondent Simon Rowley.

Sway were never in command as wickets tumbled to Connor Tompkins (5-25) and Barry Bartlett (2-19) and they folded for 112 in the 35th over.

Although Mike Dodd hit 69, he received little support as Ellingham 3rds were bowled out for 141 with Mansbridge taking 6-24 for Totton and Eling IV at Picket Post.

Earlier, the combined side had made 210 with Cumming hitting 89 as Richard Hough claimed 6-24.

In Regional Division 2 South, Martyn Balsom (70 no) and Chay Fox (26) took Bransgore 2nds to 160-8 with Jack Renshaw (2-48), Neil Thomas (2-22) and Rich Philpott (2-11) the best of the Hyde 2nds’ attack.

Alex Turner (47) and Hugh Thomas (34) kept Hyde in contention but wickets fell to Sib Binfield (5-35) and their innings closed on 142 in 39 overs.

Alderholt’s 86 proved no problem to Redlynch and Hale 2nds, who won by seven wickets.

Dan Mepham (5-29) and Alex Martin (4-58) had Lymington out for 91 in Regional Division 3 West and only Martin Rapson (26) was out as Dan Maher (22 no) and Ray Gunn (18 no) saw Burley home without further loss for a nine-wicket win in the 25th over.

Verwood 2nds were dismissed for 62 and, despite Dan Thomson taking 4-17, Hythe and Dibden 3rds won by four wickets at their lucky home ground of Potterne Park.
