TWO bumper days of racing are coming to Gurston Down Speed Hillclimb this weekend.

The new motorsport season gets into gear at the Broad Chalke-based circuit with hordes of racers gunning for top times and finishes on Saturday and Sunday.

The opener will provide a feast of speed as more than 130 drivers in saloons and sports cars from classic to modern, plus the fast sports racing and single-seater racing cars, battle it out.

And on the second day, a contingent of riders and motorbikes of the National Hillclimb Association compete and the well-subscribed Gates of Brockenhurst Gurston Down Hillclimb Championship and the BARC SW Top Ten Challenge feature.

The battle for Best Time of the Day (BTD) will be fought-out between the drivers in the fastest single-seaters and sports racing cars on both days.

Among the BTD contenders will be 2013 Gurston Down Top Ten Challenge winner Ed Hollier.

He will be up against Simon Moyse from Bicester. And among the sports racing contenders will be 2014 Top Ten Challenge winner and Gurston Championship sponsor Jonathan Gates from Brockenhurst.

Making their competition debut in their latest car will be city favourites Chris Cannell and Sue Hayes from Salisbury.
