FANTASTIC hockey has been on show from starlets at Chafyn Grove School.
The girls’ under 11s and 13s have been taking on the country’s best teams having reached the national finals this month.
The first team (under 13s), still undefeated in their school fixtures, came close to becoming the national champions but missed out to champions Cranleigh School. They lost the final at Queenswood School, Hertfordshire, by a golden goal netted in extra time.
En-route to winning the silver medal they beat Gresham’s School in the quarter finals and Hazelgrove in the semis.
Juniors representing the under 11s went to Repton School, Derbyshire to compete in the national finals where they finished in a credible 11th place.
The girls have followed on from the boy’s success last season - the under 11s reached the semi finals of the nationals and the under 13s were crowned national champions.
