IT’S not just the city which has been recognised for its prestige in a nationwide publication.
The city’s flagship ten mile road race, organised by the ever-growing City of Salisbury Running and Athletics Club, was listed as one of the top events in the UK to take part in.
The magazine Men’s Running judged the tenmile challenge to be up among the country’s best, alongside such classics in the sport as the Great South Run at Portsmouth, the Rhyl 10 in North Wales and the Kyles 10 in Argyll, Scotland.
The Salisbury race is held in March each year and finishes at Five Rivers Leisure Centre after several miles on the roads of the Woodford Valley.
A spokesman for the club said he was delighted by the recognition and that the event was undoubtedly equally welcoming to women runners as well.
