A CYCLING spectacular which saw top riders take to the Wiltshire roads in May will be repeated for 2015.

The routes and date of the Cycle Wiltshire is still to be confirmed, but the council says it hopes to run the event over the May Bank Holiday next year.

More than 500 riders, both experienced and beginners, participated in Cycle Wiltshire in May this year. As well as a leisurely ride in the countryside, there was also the spectacle of an elite race, which formed part of the British Cycling National Road Race series.

Last year, the 101-mile race was won in a sprint finish by Polish professional Marcin Bialoblocki.

Jane Scott, leader of Wiltshire Council, said: “This was a wonderful event we just have to repeat it in 2015."
