A LADIES football team has been launched following a successful season from the Bemerton Heath Harlequins.
The new team was announced on Monday, May 29, and it will join the growing Wiltshire County Women's and Girl's League.
Bemerton Heath Harlequins Ladies FC will play on Sundays with Moon Park as their home ground.
The team hopes to create a happy, supportive and successful environment following the success of the Lionesses at the Euros and ahead of the Women's World Cup.
Director of football Ian Saunders said: "I am absolutely over the moon that our club has another piece of the true community club jigsaw.
"We restarted our Youth section and our ambition was to cater for ‘everyone’ in and around our community. The ladies coming on board has now provided that platform.
"We look forward to working closely with our new team, during this exciting time for our club."
Trials for the football club will take place on Hudson's Field on July 12 (7pm-9pm), July 16 (10-12pm) and July 19 (7pm-9pm).
There has already been significant interest in the team and to get involved, email BHHLFC@gmail.com.
Friendlies, management and sponsors will be announced over the next week.
The first pre-season friendly match will see the team travel to Southampton to face the newly-formed Eling Ladies FC on August 13.
