PUPILS from Mere School were treated to a special visit which provided lifesaving learning.

Excitement buzzed through the corridors of Mere School as the Wiltshire Air Ambulance team made a special visit, bringing with them a wealth of lifesaving knowledge.

Children eagerly engaged in hands-on activities and insightful demonstrations, immersing themselves in the world of emergency response.

Under the expert guidance of the Wiltshire Air Ambulance team, students dove into an array of practical exercises aimed at equipping them with essential skills for handling emergencies.

From mastering the basics of making a 999 call to learning crucial techniques like Cardiopulmonary resuscitation(CPR) and the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), pupils enthusiastically attended each lesson.

Paired up and armed with mannequins, the children practised various emergency procedures, from the recovery position to aiding someone who is choking.

These interactive sessions not only provided valuable skills but also instilled a sense of confidence in the children, empowering them to respond effectively in times of crisis.

In addition to hands-on activities, the visit provided insight into the vital role of the air ambulance in serving the Wiltshire community.
