THE rare Blue Supermoon has been photographed over Stonehenge.
This stunning photo shows August 2023's Blue Supermoon, and was shared by Nick Bull, aka Stonehenge Dronescapes, in our Camera Club on Facebook.
This full moon is the brightest, biggest and closest moon of the year, and is particularly significant as it is the second in the space of one month.
This Blue Supermoon is particularly special, as such an occurrence won't happen again until 2037.

The phenomenon occurs when the pattern of days in a year means there are 13 full Moons instead of the usual 12.
Despite the name, this moon does not actually appear blue in colour, the name in fact refers to the fact that it is the second moon of the calendar month.
