A THIEF broke into a high-up window and stole cash from a coffee shop but the owners are staying positive.

Coffee Angels, on High Street in Tisbury, was broken into in the early hours of Sunday, July 2.

The thief allegedly climbed up to a "very high" window above the shop, unlatched it to gain entry and took around £350 of float money from the till.

No damage was done to the building and the charity donation boxes raising money for teenage cancer and Salisbury Hospice charities were untouched.

Co-owners Kelly McGrath and Shelley Crouch are "gutted" because they always thought Tisbury was a "very safe place".

The pair hope it was not a local person who committed the crime, Shelley said: "These things don't happen in Tisbury, everyone knows everyone."

This was the first time Coffee Angels has been the victim of crime since opening in March 2021.

Shelley, who has lived in the town her whole life, said: "We should not have left money in the till, we know that, but we did not expect someone to climb in a window that high up. We have learned our lesson.

"There are some chancers out there and we got unlucky.

"We love Tisbury and we have had great support from the community."

A Wiltshire Police spokesperson said: "We are keen to hear from anyone with information about a burglary that took place at Coffee Angels on Tisbury High Street.
