A FINAL farewell flight of a group of iconic Royal Air Force aircraft has been captured in pictures.

The Lockheed C-130 Hercules will be retired by the RAF following more than 50 years of service.

Since December 1966, the Hercules vehicles have been used to support military and humanitarian missions globally, including evacuations from Sudan and Afghanistan.

Photographers came out to wish the three aircraft farewell as the pilots flew over MOD Boscombe Down toward Salisbury Plain at 4.20pm today, June 14.
