A 12-YEAR-old took two hat-tricks for Damerham in their defeat to Andover III's at the weekend.
In doing so, Robert Edwards became the youngest player to take a hat-trick in Damerham's near 200-year history.
Robert finished with figures of 7-6 from his five overs as Damerham lost by 89 runs.
His six wickets came as part of two separate hat-tricks.
His first over was uneventful, and went for two runs.
The second went for just one. The third went for two off the first ball.
The second ball was caught at mid-off, the third was caught behind, the fourth was an LBW. An extraordinary hat trick from a 12-year-old.
Robert is young to play in open age group league cricket.
But he plays Hampshire age group, and has the permission to play for his local league side at Damerham from his Hampshire coach and the Hampshire Cricket League Secretary.
He wasn't done yet.
His fourth over went for one. He was then taken off, in accordance with the league rules regarding young players.
When he returned some time later for his fifth over, his first ball went for a single, followed by two dots.
The next two were clean-bowled. The last was caught by his dad, Tommy Edwards, at short cover.
The opposition had already made over 200 (one opener was 129 not out) and this incredible double hat trick ended up on the losing side, but nobody much cared. He was graciously gifted the match ball by Andover.
