A man was seen waving a weapon and shouting at people in Amesbury.
The incident took place in the Amenity Area off Harvard Way at approximately 11am on Thursday, May 18 and Wiltshire Police is now appealing for witnesses who may have been in the park at the time.
A man in his 50s has been arrested and interviewed and has since been released under investigation.
Violence/sexual offences, anti-social behaviour, and criminal damage/arson were the top crimes reported in the area surrounding the Amesbury Town Council Amenity Area between January and March of this year.
Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or have any information has been asked to call 101 and quote crime reference number 54230052862.
