A RECORD number of exhibitors overcame wind and rain to produce a "wonderful show" with an "outstanding display of Daffodils across all classes."

Damerham and District Horticultural Society held its Spring Show at Damerham Village Hall on April 1.

The annual event was well received this year, with notable highlights including flowering shrubs which were "particularly spectacular", with some entries measuring over three feet tall.

The Easter theme in the Floral Art was well represented with some rather amusing entries appearing in the “April Fools Day” men’s classes.

Food entries included simnel cakes and citrus Victoria sponges, with the judge commenting that the "standard was very high" and the "attention to detail and presentation" were also.

Over sixty-five children’s entries from Western Downland School included some magnificent Easter cards as well as miniature gardens.
