WINDOWS were smashed on about 30 cars in Salisbury over the weekend.

Residents were reporting on Facebook on Saturday that vehicles had been vandalised in the areas of Queen Elizabeth Gardens, Wilton Road and Exeter Street.

The incidents are believed to have happened in the early hours of Saturday, and are thought to have started in Francis Way in Harnham with further reports of damage in Cecil Avenue.

The suspect(s) are then believed to have caused damage to more vehicles on Ayleswade Road and Exeter Street in the city centre before moving on to Pembroke Road and Tournament Road on Bemerton Heath.

Ten vehicles were also damaged on a garage forecourt in Churchfields.

PC Emma Reid from Salisbury Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) said: "Most vehicles have had one or more windows smashed. This is obviously very upsetting for the owners.

"I would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed anything suspicious in the early hours of Saturday morning, and from residents of the areas affected who may have CCTV."

Anyone with information is asked to contact Salisbury Neighbourhood Policing Team on 101, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
