A SUSPECTED hit-and-run driver accused of joyriding while almost three times over the drink-drive limit on Salisbury’s streets has failed to turn up in court.

A warrant was issued for the arrest of Levi Firth, 20, after he missed his court date at Salisbury Magistrates’ Court on July 17.

Mr Firth, from Mercury Close, Rochester, Kent, is accused of driving a Ford Transit flat-bed tipper lorry on December 23, with 93 microgrammes of alcohol in his breath.

It is alleged he damaged the truck when he crashed into a Ford Mondeo on Brown Street and a brick wall belonging to Godolphin School. He is charged with joyriding, driving without due care and attention, drink-driving, failing to stop at the scene of an accident and driving without insurance or a licence.
