ROCK and blues band Stone Donkey Pilots have been named as the next performers to grace the Sixpenny Sessions stage.

The group, which has its roots in the Salisbury open mic circuit, recently won all three categories in which they were nominated at the Salisbury Music Awards, namely Best Blues/Folk Band, Best Live Act and Best Salisbury Band.

They will be performing at Sixpenny Handley Village Hall on April 17 from 8pm - doors open at 7.30pm. Support will be provided by solo blues musician, Pete Robson

Jenny Gordon of Sixpenny Sessions said: “Sixpenny Sessions are riding high at the moment following a gig with Phil Beer in February and it’s fabulous to be bringing a wide range of great live music to the Cranborne Chase area.

"We are delighted that Stone Donkey Pilots and Pete Robson have agreed to bring their gutsy blend of blues, folk and rock to Sixpenny Handley for what will undoubtedly be a foot stomping night out. With a barbecue and full bar it’s set to be a great evening."

Tickets cost £7 and are available from Styles Newsagents, High Street, Sixpenny Handley or via eventbrite.co.uk (plus £1.49 online booking fee).

All profits go towards Sixpenny Handley with Pentridge Community Fund.

So far, profits have already funded disabled access for Pentridge Village Hall and crockery for Crossroads cafe, a project to bring the elderly in Sixpenny Handley together once a month.
