NEW Forest District Council is looking to involve members of the public in planning strategy and applications to ensure they have their say.

It has published a revised statement of community involvement setting out how residents can have their voices heard on district-wide planning strategy as well as on planning applications that may affect them.

The council is the planning authority for the areas of the district outside the National Park boundary.

The public is invited to comment on the document before it is considered for adoption by the council in early 2015 Councillor Paul Vickers, New Forest District Council’s portfolio holder for planning and transportation, said: “It is vital that we involve residents in the process of developing our planning policy to ensure that it reflects their views.

This is an important opportunity for people to have their say on how we do that and I would encourage them to do so.”
