A DOG is fighting for its life with a punctured lung and broken ribs after it was attacked by another, aggressive dog, believed to be a Staffordshire bull terrier.
The attack happened on Tuesday at around 12.15pm in the park near the Harlequins football ground in Hazel Close, Bemerton Heath.
Police say “a loose staffy-type dog” attacked a smaller dog, and that onlookers feared for their own safety.
A police spokesman said: “The dog was very aggressive and it is not sure if the other dog will survive.”
Police are searching for the owners of the attacking dog.
It is believed they live in the Bemerton Heath area.
