A JACKKNIFED lorry has been heaping misery on motorists in Salisbury since 9.30 this morning.
The junction between New Harnham Road and New Bridge Road has been blocked all day while a major diesel spill is cleared.
Traffic jams have backed up on the A354 from Coombe Bissett, the A338 through Bodenham and Britford and the Netherampton Road and Harnham Road past the Livestock Market.
Police say although the lorry has been moved, it could be a further three hours before the road is reopened.
Liz Van Vogt Tweeted: “left quidhampton for work at hospital 11.20, it's now 1pm and still stuck in traffic! Chaos!”
Lynda Kelly Tweeted: "lorry jack-knifed in Salisbury this morning and managed to shut the whole city down. Unbelievable !!
Parked cars in Britford Lane West are hindering the clean-up operation and adding to the already huge delays.
