SALISBURY firefighters and Rotarians have helped to fund a £2,700 special bike for an eight-year-old boy who was left severely brain damaged in a swimming pool accident.

Jayden Beavan, who attends Exeter House School suffered an hypoxic brain injury, when he nearly drowned in the accident four years ago.

The new bike, which has been especially adapted for Jayden, will aid his circulation and general mobility.

His mum, Debbie Brown, said: “I’d like to say a huge thank you to everybody who has helped raise the money for his trike and also a huge thank you to my mum who helped to co-ordinate the funding.

“The Tomcat Trike will make a real difference as it helps Jayden to exercise in a more natural way.”

Jayden was presented with the s p e c i a l ly-made trike at Salisbury Fire Station.

The bike was funded by donations from Salisbury Rotary Club, Salisbury Fire Station and the Tom Bowen Legacy Fund.
