YOUNG opera stars are needed to play a part at this year's Celebrate Voice Festival.

Celebrate Voice is auditioning for children to be part of their 2016 chorus for their professional production of Tosca in October.

Each year the festival produces a new opera in Salisbury, bringing leading British and international opera singers to the city, and giving the chance for boys and girls aged nine to 16 to sing in the chorus, in Italian, costumed and staged alongside these stars.

Auditions take place on Saturday at the Methodist Church, St Edmund’s Church Street, Salisbury.

To apply to audition contact the festival general manager by emailing billy@celebratevoice.co.uk to confirm availability for the rehearsal and performance period before auditioning.

In addition, there are three places in the adult professional chorus (mezzo, tenor, baritone), along with a recital opportunity for young or emerging professionals based in the south west.

The production this year is under the direction of Royal Opera House Staff Director Julia Burbach, and ENO conductor Phillip Thomas. For more information go to celebratevoice.co.uk/auditions
