THERE is a treat for folk music lovers at Salisbury Arts Centre.
BBC Radio 2 Folk Award Musician of the Year Andy Cutting takes centre stage with his squeezebox on June 23 alongside two of Britain’s finest folk musicians, guitar hero Martin Simpson and fiddle-player Nancy Kerr.
They are all accomplished soloists and accompanists, and the performance is a lively and varied set dominated by new songs about politics, history and nature.
Nancy Kerr is a multi-instrumentalist who has been part of the acoustic music scene since her teenage years. Andy Cutting is a master of the
diatonic accordion and squeezeboxes. He has performed with the likes of The Who, Roger Daltry and Sting. Martin Simpson is a multi-award-winning musician, singer and songwriter who has gone down a storm at Salisbury Arts Centre in previous years.
The performance is kindly supported by Salisbury Arts Centre Business Members. It starts at 8pm and the bar opens from 7.15pm. Tickets are £15 and £13 concessions and are available from the box office by calling 01722 321744 or going to salisburyartscentre.co.uk
