SALISBURY Chamber Chorus are to entertain audiences on Saturday night with a concert of classic sacred music from Alleluia to Zadok.
It features works by Bach, Handel, Rachmaninov, Stravinsky, Parry, Bainton and Fauré.
Amongst well-known choral music like Zadok the Priest, the Hallelujah Chorus and Rachmaninov’s beautiful Bogordjitse Djevo, the concert will also include the moving Stravinsky conclusion to Mussorgsky’s unfinished opera Khovanshchina, and the Easter Hymn from Mascagni’s Cavalleria Rusticana.
Musical director Simon McEnery will be at the helm, and the Chorus is joined for this concert by the organ scholar at Salisbury Cathedral, Henry Websdale.
