CELEBRATE the 400th birthday of William Shakespeare at Salisbury Arts Centre.

A double bill of films – Bill and Macbeth – is being shown on Saturday.

Bill is a film written by the team behind CBBC’s hit series Horrible Histories and can be enjoyed by all members of the family.

The life of the young William Shakespeare is reimagined with many poetic liberties in this fast paced comedy, which is being screened at 12.30pm.

A hopeless lute player called Bill Shakespeare leaves home to follow his dream. Six actors share 40 roles between them in a story of murderous kings, spies, lost loves and a plot to blow up Queen Elizabeth I.

And in the evening the acclaimed film starring Michael Fassbender, Macbeth (15), is being shown at 7.30pm.

Macbeth is the ruthless noble warrior destroyed by ambition, who kills his king and takes the throne after receiving a prophecy from a trio of witches.The film also stars Marion Cotilard as the scheming Lady Macbeth.
