THE Games of the XXXI Olympiad, better known as the Rio Olympics 2016, are almost upon us and Salisbury-based company Talk Eat Laugh are involved in the preparations.

Under Talk Eat Laugh’s private chef banner, Discreet & Delicious, they are providing a performance chef, Becky Dowst, to cook for Team GB swimmers in the final week of July, before they fly out to Brazil.

Becky said: “This is an exciting week, working with athletes at the very top of their game, seeing at first hand the hard work and attention to detail which makes them successful.

“Having a performance chef working with their own performance nutritionists will help ensure that the team are eating the right foods to during their final week of training in the UK, to help them succeed in the biggest competition of their lives, on the biggest stage.”

In the spring, Talk Eat Laugh worked with the Birmingham-based project Healthy Kitchen to film a programme on simple nutritious food.

Chef Rachel Muse worked together with Midland’s based Ruksana Shain and ITV’s Sameena Ali-Khan. “We were brought together by Ruksana who is the brains behind this fabulous project. Our goal is to encourage viewers of all ages to get into the kitchen and have fun creating healthy food,” says Rachel.

“With Ruksana’s farm to fork sections we also learn more about how our food arrives in supermarkets.”

Shows are aired on Sky 845 at 6.30pm and are free to stream on Britishmuslim.tv
